Adoption Terms & Conditions

KINDRED KITTIES ADOPTION TERMS & CONDITIONS

All adoptions are subject to a 2‑week trial period<= /b>.  After the 2-week trial period the adoption will become final.  If you have any questions or concerns during this time, please call us! A representative from Kindred Kitties will be calling you 2 – 3 weeks after the adoption to check in and make sure everything is okay – please do not be alarmed when you receive our call!

= If at any time you are una= ble to take proper care of this kitten/cat or circumstances prevent you from kee= ping this kitten/cat please search DILIGENTLY for a new home.  Understand that the over‑c= rowded conditions at animal shelters make it nearly impossible to find homes for most cats.  Adult cats relinquished to shelters are often euthanized.  After you have exhausted all of y= our search options, please call us.

§          You agree that an unaltered kitten or cat must be spayed/neutere= d by the date specified on the adoption agreement

§          You are advised that the cat/kitten should be kept indoors<= /o:p>

§          You must seek veterinary care when needed for routine visits or illnesses

§          You understand that the health cannot be guaranteed but Kindred Kitties is available for consultation

While the rescued cats/kittens at Kindred Kitties are waiting for new homes, they are provided with nutritious food, clean wate= r, warm bedding, toys, and socialization from experienced handlers and gener= al observation for symptoms of illness.&nbs= p; Routine preventative treatment has been provided for your cat/kitt= en and is recorded on the Health Record section of the Adoption Agreement.  When indicated, additional treat= ment may have been provided for illness such as, but not limited to: Upper Respiratory Infection; Diarrhea; Ring Worm; Ear Mites; Eye Infection.

Even though your cat/kitten may have been given preventative treatment and/or treatment for the illne= sses listed above, this does not mean that they are not susceptible to any oth= er illness, recurring or new.  = We will advise you of any ongoing treatment at the time of adoption.  All further care, treatment, and associated costs are the responsibility of the new owner.

Cats/kittens may become stressed when moved out of their surroundings and sometimes become ill fr= om the stress of the adoption.  To make sure your new family member is well, PLEASE make sure = that you use your FREE HEALTH CHECK within the two-week trial period.

Kittens Unde= r 12 Weeks of Age:   Young kittens are very vuln= erable to “sudden death syndrome” which may be caused by viruses and/or bacteria, and c= an cause a visibly-well kitten to die quickly. Although Kindred Kitties will= use reasonable care in evaluating young kittens prior to adoption, please remember that many kittens may not display signs of illness at the time of adoption.

All Kittens/Cats:  Kindred Kitties cannot gua= rantee the health condition of any cat or kitten adopted.  Many of our kittens have been abandoned, born to feral mothers, surrendered, or otherwise discarded.  Therefore, we do not always know= the origin or health history of our rescued cats/kittens.  Whenever possible, we will provi= de any health information to the new adoptive parents.  We also take preventative measur= es to aid in the health of the cat/kitten.&nbs= p;

Please keep in mind that Kindred Kitties is available for consultation about behavioral/medical issues regarding your cat/kitten.  However, please= also note that Kindred Kitties’ advice should not be substituted for a v= isit to the veterinarian if your kitten/cat is ill.
