Hopper is a bit of a scaredy cat, this little boy is learning to trust us. He has beautiful markings and wonderful big eyes! He loves to be petted and seeks out attention, but does not like being handled. He needs a forever home where he can learn to be more trusting through patience and love. He does well with other cats. He should not be adopted into a home with young children or dogsHopper is up to date with routine shots and has been altered.  ID:07041318

Adoption Process

Every kitten is tested for Feline Leukemia and adult cats are tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV.  All cats are de-wormed, de-fleaed and have received a Distemper vaccine.  With every adoption, we work with you to ensure every phase of introducing your kitten or cat into your home is smooth and pleasant.

Step One
After you have found the perfect fit, you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire. Your responses are reviewed and if the fit is good for both you and the kitty or cat, you move on to the next step which is the Adoption Agreement.

Step Two
The Adoption Agreement is the binding contract between you and Kindred Kitties for the adoption of your new family member. A tax deductible donation to Kindred Kitties is requested. You will be given a Certificate for a free health check and if the cat/kitten is not yet spayed, you will receive a Spay/Neuter Certificate offering discounts at a number of local veterinarians.

One Cat/Kitten = $80.00 or two for $120.00

If a second cat is adopted within 6 months of the first one, the second cat will be $50

Step Three
Make sure you have everything you need for your new family member before you bring your kitten or cat home. A volunteer will be able to assist you.  Here is a list of things you will need:

  • Litter pan, litter and scooper
  • Food (dry and/or wet) appropriate for the age of your kitty
  • Food and water bowls
  • Toys (for socializing)
  • Bed or blanket
  • A quiet secure room for them to become acclimated with their new home
  • Lots of love and affection

Step Four
A volunteer will usually call you during the first month to see how the adoption is going. If you do not get a call feel free to call one of the numbers on your agreement with questions or to let us know how you are doing.  A home visit may also be a part of this step.
