In January of 2011, Polar was found outside in Silver Lake freezing in someone’s driveway. He was unable to move. He had an upper respiratory infection and frostbite on his paws and ears. As a result, Polar lost the tips of his ears and still has chronic respiratory issues. When he first arrived at our adoption center after being in foster long enough to get his respiratory infection under control, he was wary and untrusting of people. Everytime you would approach his cage it was like you were starting over with him, but once he realized how good it felt to be pet, he would slowly start purring and rolling over for more! Since then, he has become a very sweet boy who likes to help us answer our phone at our Adoption Center.
